Occasional musings

Missing in Action

When I started this blog, I didn’t intend my postings to be quite so ‘occasional’. One post in three years isn’t much of an effort. I’d like to say I’ve been busy writing fiction, but that sounds like a cop-out, even to me.
I have completely reworked the website (as the three of you who’ve visited before will undoubtedly notice), and I’ve moved it to another host. I look forward to spending more time developing the site and experimenting with a few ideas.
My next book is nearly ready to send to my editor. It is a thriller set in New Zealand’s South Island. The premise came to me after years of watching and reading thrillers in which an imperilled protagonist’s phone is broken up, and the SIM card discarded. What would happen—I wondered—if someone found that SIM card and inserted it in their phone. Dead If You Find Me is the result. I’m aiming for a November release.
Beyond the Sea is still finding new readers, which is encouraging, and I expect sales to ramp up again when Dead if you Find Me comes out. Thanks for reading. Back soonish.
